| A partnership
project between: Reveal, SPAEDA, Somerset Film and IAC (Ilminster
Arts Centre) |
| This project
was designed to encourage community engagement with their local
arts centre through the provision of fun and creative workshops. |
| Participants
were given an opportunity to work alongside a professional visual
artist to create tangible artworks using a range of materials. A
filmmaker also worked with participants to create a short documentary
film. |
| Participants
worked to the general theme: ‘experiments with light’.
Families worked together to create sun prints, light scribbles and
lanterns. Initially participants approached the theme in a very
literal way, however, over the course of the project they became
evermore experimental and adventurous with their ideas. Project
participants also developed creative confidence in their filmmaking.
What started as a simple exercise in camera techniques developed
into experiments with lens distortion, unusual composition, colour
and atmosphere. |
